Mr. Wonderful, A Fictional Story Just For Mommies

The gorgeous sunrise couldn’t be more ideal for Cassie Briggs as she sipped her cold brew on her villa balcony overlooking the great blue waves of Cancun. While Cassie was laying on the balcony lounge chair, her thoughts of her children, dental practice and husband seemed to float away. It’s not that she didn’t love her life back home, she absolutely did, however, she craved to be someone different during the long weekend away from her family. Just then, as she was taking in the morning sun, she felt a warm kiss press against her forehead. “Good Morning Beautiful ……….!” As Cassie turned looked up, she saw Mr. Wonderful (as she liked to call to him). He stood over her shirtless as the sun shining on his toned flat stomach. When their lips met each other, Cassie couldn’t help but think, she was in ultimate bliss. The romantic interlude began a few years ago, both of them married, were craving some type of adventure and excitement from their ordinary daily routine. They decided to only meet up in exotic destinations for a weekend getaway a couple of times a year. It was less than 24 hours ago when Cassie was in her office going over patient charts when she saw a text from Mr. Wonderful asking if they could meet in Cancun tomorrow. She knew instantly the desire to meet up for a summer romance had overtaken anything else on her mind. With her husband away on business and her mother in town to watch the little ones, it was the perfect time for a quick intimate getaway.  24 hours later, Cassie was sipping a crisp Prosecco in her first-class seat, anxiously awaiting to see Mr. Wonderful. And now here they were, embraced in each other’s arms watching the beautiful ocean sunrise together. The day couldn’t have been more blissful, breakfast in bed, couples massages on the beach and cocktails at the swim-up bar. Being in Cancun with Mr. Wonderful brought about the spontaneous passion Cassie yearned for, but could never fully get back at home. Mr. Wonderful always knew just what she needed and thrived on taking care of all her emotional and physical needs. It was the type of passion that was almost impossible to emulate at home with her husband. Cassie’s close friends had told her numerous times, how lust and intimacy gives-way to reality when you have a family and a demanding career. For several years Cassie agreed, feeling the lack of passion in her own marriage, but then Mr. Wonderful entered her life. In many ways, Mr. Wonderful was exactly like her husband, the same personality, similar physique, and even both attorneys. However, Mr. Wonderful brought out the inner thrill and excitement Cassie used to feel before marriage, children and a demanding career. The feel of his touch and the way he looked in her bright blue eyes, made her heart race and desire him more than ever. On their last night, the opened French doors delivered the peaceful sounds of the ocean waves. Cassie nestled herself around Mr. Wonderful’s toned arms, then pressed her finger on his sensitive tan skin and left the imprint of M.W. on his left bicep. “There I branded you”, she said with a giggle as she fell back into his arms. With his eyes still closed, he smiled at her and pulled her in closer into his warm chest. The following day at the airport Mr. Wonderful uttered those bittersweet words, “until next time” she held him for one last moment, and then boarded her plane back home. During her flight over the Atlantic, Cassie reminisced about the perfect weekend she just had with Mr. Wonderful. Even though she knew she would miss their time away together, she set her mind to being back at home with her loving family she adored. When she landed four hours later, she received a text from her husband that his flight was slightly delayed and he would be home soon. She found herself smiling at her husband’s text, even though she had just had another memorable rendevous with Mr. Wonderful, she genuinely was looking forward to being back with her family. As Cassie opened the front door to her home, her two children darted towards giving her the hug that warmed her heart. A moment later, while still hugging her two children, the door opened and her husband walked in, “ where’s my hug” as he watched his children embracing their mom. The kids then lunged towards their dad knocking him down on the floor hugging him tightly. Cassie bent down towards him and kissed him and asked: “How was your trip?” But before he could answer, his little girl who clutching his arm asked: “daddy, why is there an M. W on your arm daddy?” He turned readily to look at Cassie, who was now blushing with a dewy smile, grinning, he held his daughter and said, “I have no idea, maybe I was branded!
